Last year, our supporters raised over £1,000 towards organising our major conference in Glasgow on November 1st – “Stop the Nuclear Nightmare: Build Scotland for People and Peace”.
Your generosity helped realise a landmark event for our campaign, at which political and civic leaders spoke in favour of peace, nuclear disarmament and against militarism.
To follow up on this successful conference, and strengthen the networks we built there, Scottish CND is organising a national demonstration at Faslane on Saturday 14th of March 2026.
We announced the demonstration at our conference on November 1st and today we are launching an appeal to help us organise the demonstration.
Just as the funds raised last year went towards our November conference, this year’s festive appeal is to help publicise our March 2026 demonstration and help make it as accessible as possible for our supporters across Scotland.
Help Scottish CND make a big statement at this upcoming demonstration, and show politicians running for elected office in May that the people of Scotland object to the omnicide weapons on our coasts:
Tomorrow morning we welcome members and supporters, both online and in-person, to our Annual General Meeting taking place in Glasgow. We are looking forward to contributions from an excellent lineup of guests, including Florian Eblenkamp of ICAN, Professor Karen Bell co-author of the Alternative Defence Review, Rob Edwards of The Ferret and Laura Pidcock of Declassified UK.
You can still register for free to join us at the AGM. The meeting is open to all, even if they are not members – we want as many people as possible to enjoy this great lineup! However, only members will be permitted to vote on procedural matters. Information for members about executive nominations, resolutions and amendments can be found on our website here.
The full programme for the AGM can be downloaded here.
Finally, some information relating to the Scottish CND bloc at the climate march tomorrow in Glasgow. For those members and supporters who want to join our marchers, here is a map showing the route and assembly point for the march:
The march will assemble at 11AM on Glasgow Green at the location indicated above. Look out for our members holding “No Nuclear” placards which they will be handing out to other demonstrators!
The UN Climate Summit is currently convening in Brazil, with international negotiations on how to deal with the climate crisis at their highest stakes yet. We encourage those supporters who won’t be attending our AGM to join environmental and justice campaigners from across Scotland tomorrow and raise the salience of the nuclear threat to our climate at this important demonstration.
We look forward to seeing our members and supporters at the AGM and on the march tomorrow!
In peace,
Scottish Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament
