This is all the more reason why Scottish CND will be continuing to amplify and disseminate the message of peace this upcoming election year for Scotland – a message that is needed now more than ever. Below is a list of our upcoming campaign events early in 2026:

2026 is an election year in Scotland, and one of the objectives of our campaign is to raise the political salience of the nuclear threat in our back yard.
That’s why Scottish CND are organising our Stop the Nuclear Nightmare demonstration at Faslane on Saturday 14th March from 1pm-3pm, and a peace hustings in Edinburgh on Thursday 26th of March (still to be formally announced). Mark your diaries and join these important peace campaign events in advance of the Scottish election!
In the first two weeks of 2026, we have witnessed the US abduction of the Venezuelan president and threats to conquer Greenland by force, the prospect of another intervention in Iran after weeks of internal strife and bloody state repression, and a devastating war raging on in Ukraine in which Russia has conducted another (nuclear-capable) hypersonic missile strike.
Scotland can no longer be considered to be on the peripheries of this unstable new world order. We have already seen how Scottish airports and coasts were the staging ground for the US seizure of a Russian-flagged oil tanker in the Atlantic just over a week ago. A serious Scottish government must acknowledge this reality a develop a vision for 21st century Scotland without a nuclear target on our backs
A renewed peace movement in Scotland is needed now more than ever. Keep an eye on SCND’s communication channels to stay updated on our campaigning in the coming year.
In peace,
Scottish Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament
