The need to rally against a worldwide nuclear arms-race is urgent. Diplomacy and international law, as means of securing peace and security, are being rejected by cynical and irresponsible world powers.
Only a mass movement with sound leadership can steer us away from a dark future of nuclear militarism for Scotland.
That is why we are very pleased to welcome important figures from Scottish civil society, politics and activism as keynote speakers at our major upcoming conference on Saturday 1st of November, to challenge the dominant nuclear narratives and present an alternative vision of Scotland’s future:
Friends of the Earth Director Rochana Sheward, SNP Depute Leader Keith Brown and Global Sumud Flotilla participant Sid Khan will introduce the conference, presenting their perspectives on the nuclear threat and its relation to the major political challenges facing Scotland today.
The opening keynote speeches will be followed by our panel discussions, as announced in our previous mailing and on social media. Panel lineups are also advertised again at the bottom of this email!
After a lunch break, our third and final panel will be followed by our closing keynote presentation by Indra Adnan and Pat Kane of The Alternative UK. They will conclude the day’s discussions by energising us towards concrete steps in securing a more just and secure Scotland.
There is still time to get your tickets for this major event, which will be Scottish CND’s biggest of the year and aims to galvanise the movement against nuclear weapons, militarism and a war economy.
Don’t miss out – register today by clicking here!
Supporters and members can also help out by copying any of the graphics in this email and sharing them around their personal networks to encourage friends and family to attend on Saturday 1st.
We’re looking forward to seeing you in Glasgow next Saturday!
In peace,
