China

China has a small but growing nuclear arsenal. The country has recently been developing more modern missile systems. The Chinese nuclear arsenal is not kept on the same high state of alert as American, British and French weapons.

There is concern that nuclear weapons could be used in a conflict with Taiwan or India. China has also expressed concern that US "Star Wars" plans are intended to neutralise China's nuclear capability.
