Replied to survey in March 2011:
"I am against the construction of new nuclear power stations in Scotland".
Voted for motion which opposed Trident replacement
Made a speech. He explained that he had worked on both Polaris and Trident, but had changed his view - "I no longer feel that a fleet of submarines with multiwarhead, intercontinental ballistic missiles is needed to defend the rights of Britons at home and abroad."
