Voted for motion which opposed the renewal of Trident
Made a speech as Minister for Europe, External Affairs and Culture and said:
"We should debate the matter until the two thirds of Scots whom Patrick Harvie mentioned are given justice and their right to reject weapons of mass destruction on their shores."

Replied to survey in June 2005 saying she was opposed to Trident replacement and said "Although I am not a pacifist the immorality of nuclear weapons is clear to me, as is the anachronism of such WMDs in a world where the nature of conflict has altered"
