Question 1. The Scottish Parliament should continue to call on the UK government not to go ahead sith the current proposal to replace Trident. Question 2. The Scottish Parlaiment should call on the UK government to cease the deployment of Trident Question 3. The Scottish Parliament should support a Nuclear Weapons Convention (a global ban on nuclear weapons). Question 4. Are you for or against the construction of new nuclear power stations in Scotland ? "Opposition to nuclear weapons has been a long standing personal as well as political commitment of mine" ""I can confirm that I am totally opposed to the construction of new nuclear power stations in Scotland. As you know, this has been the firmly held view of the SNP for decades and I cannot envisage it changing. In government, we made it quite clear that we would use whatever appropriate devolved powers there were, to block any attempt to foist new nuclear power stations on us." |
