Views on nuclear weapons:

December 2009 - Signed EDM 144 calling for a Nuclear Weapons Convention and EDM 380 calling for the Trident Replacement programme to be cancelled.

14 March 2007 - Voted against the Government motion which called for the renewal of Trident. Speech

November 2006 - Replied to survey saying he was opposed to the upgrading or replacing of Trident and said

"A decision to replace Trident would undermine our support for the nuclear non proliferation treaty and make the world a more dangerous place by encouraging other countries to develop nuclear weapons"

June 2005 Response to survey -

"Replacing Trident will weaken our contribution to avoiding the proliferation of nuclear weapons in the world and will damage our contribution to discussions on the future of the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty" -

2005/06 - Supported EDMs 72, 892, 1165, 1113 and 1197, 1802 calling for a debate on Trident replacement.
