Replied to a letter from Scotland's for Peace saying that she supported the position of the Labour Party manifesto, ie "we will maintain our independent nuclear deterrent" In March 2010 was in a Government position as Junior Scotland Minister 14 March 2007 - voted against the Government motion which called for the renewal of Trident 15 December 2006 - Told BBC Scotland "From my own individual conscience I can not think of a circumstance where the use of such weapons would be justified. "There are very genuine concerns, I, like many of my other colleagues, believe in strong, conventional forces and we believe that is the best way we can achieve the best security and defence of our country." November 1006 - Replied to survey - "I will be happy to advise of my decision as and when the Government's White Paper is issued and the terms of the question to be put to Parliament is known." 2005 - Supported EDM 1197 calling for a debate on Trident Replacement |
