Views on nuclear weapons:

Replied to a letter from Scotland's for Peace saying that he would vote against the replacement of Trident

"On top of the moral argument against nuclear weapons, the proposal is even worse at this time given the lack of public funding for priorities like housing and schools".

SNP press release April 2010 - "Instead of cutting vital support schemes, Labour should scrap their obscene vanity project, Trident. Spending £100 bn on nuclear weapons which the people of Scotland do not want whilst slashing benefits for the most vulnerable is indefensible."

December 2009 - Signed EDM 144 calling for a Nuclear Weapons Convention and EDM 380 calling for the Trident Replacement programme to be cancelled.

2009 - Signed EDM 1883 calling for Trident to be included in the Defence Review. Signed EDM 660 calling for a delay in the Initial Gate of Trident Replacement.

Signed EDM 511: Replacement of Trident
