October 2010 - Spoke at a CND fringe meeting at Labour Party Conference.

15 December 2009 - Questioned the Defence Minister Bob Answorth saying: "does he not think it is time to reflect on whether we can avoid a reduction in non-operational training, for example, by determining whether we will get good value for money from the replacement of Trident ?"

December 2009 - Signed the Rethink Trident statement. This indicates that he is now opposed to Trident Replacement.

2009 - Resigned from his junior position as a PPS and criticised the Government's conduct of the war in Afghanistan.

14 March 2007 - Voted for the Government motion which called for the renewal of Trident.
