April 2010 - Replied to a letter from Scotland's for Peace saying that he would vote against the replacement of Trident -
"I have always opposed nuclear weapons. I do not believe they offer a deterrent in the modern world. Nuclear weapons offer no strategic benefit and I believe that global disarmament is a goal that all nations should work towards. When the House of Commons voted on the retention of nuclear weapons in 2007 I voted against the Government and against the renewal of Trident. Nothing since then has changed by mind and I will continue to oppose the UK's retention of nuclear weapons."

June 2005 - Replied to a survey saying he was opposed to replacing Trident and said - "I do not think that it is in the interest of the UK to replace Trident or have any nuclear weapons.
