Replied to survey in March 2011 saying: "Whilst I share your view that in an ideal world we would not need nuclear weapons, I believe that for the foreseeable future nuclear weapons will be a rational part of the UK's defence". "I believe that if we are to have sustainable energy for the future, that will include an element of nuclear power."
