- Yes
Question 2. The Scottish Parlaiment should call on the UK government to cease the deployment of Trident
- No
Question 3. The Scottish Parliament should support a Nuclear Weapons Convention (a global ban on nuclear weapons).
- Yes
Question 4. Are you for or against the construction of new nuclear power stations in Scotland ?
- For
"Given the savage cuts being imposed by the Westminster Government due to misguided economic policies it seems ludicrous for Trident in particular to be a priority at a time like this. The merits of a nuclear deterrent can be debated at length, and while it may play a part in our foreign policy at present, we should be supporting moves towards a world free from nuclear weapons."
"Renewable energy has huge potential in Scotland, however it will be unlikely to provide enough stable energy to meet our demands for electricity. Therefore if we are to reduce our usage of fossil fuels then our continued use of Nuclear power should be considered. If this requires new reactors to replace those that have, or will have reached the end of their working lives this should preferably be on existing sites."
