Replied to a letter from Scotland's for Peace saying that he would vote against the replacement of Trident
"I do not believe that the UK nuclear weapon system serves any worthwhile strategic or military purpose. Its use against another country could never in my view be justified. The idea of spending billions of pounds of taxpayers money, when we have so many other more worthwhile calls on our resources, is both senseless and repellant. Whether elected or not I am with you every step of the way in pursuit of a nuclear free Scotland in a nuclear free world."
