Replied to a letter from Scotland's for Peace saying that he would vote against the replacement of Trident
I do not believe the replacement of Trident by the UK Government is appropriate at this time when the current threat to our country's security is international terrorism. I believe that there is now an opportunity for the Government, in not replacing Trident, to take a leading role on the international stage in ridding the World of nuclear weapons. I believe the World would be a safer place without the constant threat of nuclear aniliation. I believe the money earkmarked for the replacement of Trident would be better spent on socially useful projects, and a diversification strategy devised to ensure people and communities are provided with alternative employment opportunities.
