Blast Damage

There are two blast waves caused by a nuclear explosion. The first blast wave spreads from the centre creating winds of several hundred miles per hour. This is followed by a second blast wave with winds blowing back towards ground zero.

A 100 kiloton bomb detonated in the air would destroy houses within 1.6 kms, cause irrepairable damage to buildings within 3 kms and result in severe to moderate damage wiithin 7 kms. There would be damage from broken glass and tiles over a wider area.
