Need something to warm you up this Winter? We’ve got just the thing!
January 22nd is the anniversary of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons coming into force. Since then, the treaty has gained fantastic traction. But much progress is still to be made in Scotland and the UK.
Scottish Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (SCND) would love to:
- Produce and distribute high-quality resources on the treaty
- Enhance media and press engagement
- Engage more effectively with Scottish politicians
So, on January 25th at 7:30pm, SCND are hosting a peace poetry fundraiser. This will be a hybrid event, with tickets tiered based on in-person versus online attendance. The live poetry performances will take place in the Kirk Lounge of The Renfield Centre, in Glasgow. These will consist of peace themed poems, overlaid with a Scottish flavour. Award-winning poet Gerry Loose is trekking all the way from the Isle of Bute to host the evening. Other poets include Finola Scott, Hugh Macmillan, and Stuart Paterson.
