The Scottish branch of the Women's  International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) are raising the money to fund travel expenses to get a woman from a developing country to the International Congress of WILPF in Costa Rica at the beginning of August 2011. The buffet dinner will be at the Raj, 89 Henderson St Leith EH6 6ED on Friday night (13th May)at 7.30pm.The cost of the dinner will be £20 each, half of which will go to this good cause.
It is particularly important to WILPF to facilitate the participation of women who are involved in small-scale food production as one of the themes for this Congress will be global issues around human security, food production and food sovreignty.
We hope to have a good night out, with a guest speaker Marlyn Glen (former MSP and an active supporter of CND), raffles and chat. Please contact EdinburghCND or the Edinburgh Peace and Justice Centre for more details. |
