The election campaign in 2010 will focus around the issue of where the axe will fall in public sector cuts.  Community projects across the country are under threat.  Public sector workers are all facing restrictions on their wages. 

There is an obvious project that ought to be scrapped - the proposal to replace Trident and build a new fleet of nuclear armed submarines.  The cost of building and operating this new Trident fleet will be around £75 billion.
