Nuclear Free Scotland Ocotober 2005MEET THE VOLUNTEER
NFS is pleased to introduce Adam Beese as SCND’s volunteer of the month. SCND came to Adam’s attention during the anti-war mobilisations of 2003 when he noticed an SCND “Stop Bush, No to War” sticker and checked out our website. Since then Adam has been playing a consistent and vital role in supporting the SCND stalls in Buchanan Street and carrying out administrative tasks in the office. Adam visited Japan in August where he attended the Hiroshima commemoration and met up with delegations and individuals from throughout the world. This experience reinforced Adam belief that one day governments will be elected which will see sense and start scrapping nuclear weapons: “If the US, the UK, France, Russia and China give up their nukes then other states such as Israel, India and Pakistan will take notice and start disarming themselves.
