UK boycotts conference on effect of nukes

The UK is boycotting a major conference in Mexico on the effect of nuclear weapons. Bill Kidd MSP has put down a motion in the Scottish Parliament which highlights this. Please ask your MSPs to support the motion.
Independence could halt Trident replacement - MPs

After contacting a range of MPs, Kiran Stacey and Carola Hoyos write in the Financial Times "Scottish independence would reignite the battle over the future of Britain's nuclear deterrent, driving up the price so much it might no longer be considered value for money, senior Westminster figures have told the Financial Times. MPs from all three main parties said they would reconsider whether or not to invest in a replacement for the Trident-based missile system in the event of a Yes vote in September."

Nuclear convoy in Glasgow

In the early hours of the morning on 29 January a 19-vehicle military convoy drove through Glasgow on the M74. It was bringing nuclear weapons from the Atomic Weapons Establishment Burghfield in Berkshire to the nuclear store at Coulport on Loch Long. The convoy left Burghfield on the morning of 28 January and arrived at Coulport at 1.25 am on the 29th. Further information, including a video of a similar convoy, is available from Nukewatch.
