Edinburgh Anti-War March attracts over 2,000

The antiwar march and demonstration held in Edinburgh on Saturday 12 November saw over 2000 people brave the winter weather to raise their voices agai nst the continuing illegal and immoral occupation of Iraq. In a week in which Tony Blair lost his first ever Commons vote over a draconian and despicable terror bill sanctioning the detention of suspects for up to 90 days without charge and without material evidence; on the day before Remembrance Sunday, when thoughts turn to the loss of life suffered in war; it was more important than ever that the antiwar movement took to the streets to keep the pressure on a government that has helped set the world on fire, joining the US in a savage attack on the Iraqi people for no other reason than they have the misfortune to live in a country that floats on a sea of oil.
