Trident Missile Cover up

Scottish CND have said that the cover up following the failed Trident missile test last year gives considerable cause for concern.
Arthur West chair of Scottish CND said -
It is scandalous that there now appears to be a cover up of this incident. This is sharp contrast to the publicity given to previous tests which we understand have taken place in 1994 , 1995, 1997, 2000,2005, 2009 and 2012.
Arthur West said that Scottish CND are supporting calls from across the Peace Movement for an inquiry into both the incident and the decision not to make the information available to Parliament.
Scottish CND are also asking their members and supporters to contact their MPs and ask them to support this call for an inquiry.

Some points about Trident Missile Fiasco

1 Britain's Trident missiles have been test fired in 1994, 1995, 1997, 2000, 2005, 2009, and 2012.
2 All these previous tests were carried out at a test range off Florida.
3 All these tests were publicised unlike the failed test which has only came to light through newspaper leaks in the last few days.
4The misfire of the Trident missile took place in June 2016 as part of a test off the coast of Florida . Instead of proceeding to its intended target , somewhere off the west coast of Africa , the missile reportedly headed towards the US.
5 The incident only came to light after a senior source in the Royal Navy disclosed the details to the Sunday Times newspaper.
6 The missile was launched from HMS Vengeance one of four submarines which carry the UK's nuclear weapons. HMS Vengeance has been out of service for 4 years up to December 2015 to allow for extensive modifications and refurbishments. This misfire means that HMS Vengeance has not conducted a successful missile test since 2000,
7  Each of these missile tests costs around 17 million pounds.
8 The Prime Minister refused to answer on four occasions on the Andrew Marr show on Sunday January 22nd as to whether she knew about the misfire.
9 The  misfire took place just weeks before the parliamentary vote on trident replacement in July .
10 Scottish CND is joining other groups across the Peace Movement in calling for an inquiry into the incident and the decision not to make the information available to Parliament.
