Bill Kidd Co-President of PNND.

A member of the Scottish Parliament has become a Co-President of Parliamentarians for Nuclear Non Proliferation and Disarmament. Bill Kidd was elected to the position at PNND's recent conference in Kazakhstan, where they heard of the country's experience in getting rid of Soviet-era nuclear weapons and about the legacy of nuclear testing at Semipalatinsk. Bill Kidd is an SNP MSP and a member of Scottish CND's Executive.

Bill Kidd said, "It's great honour to be elected as Co-President of PNND which has over 800 parliamentarian members from 70 countries across the world. This is recognition of the opposition to Trident and nuclear weapons everywhere of Scotland's Parliament and our people."

Also elected as Co-Presidents were US Congressman Ed Markey, Uta Zapf former German Disarmament Minister and Hideo Hiraoka MP from Japan.
