Hiroshima Events 2017

Aug 6th, 12 noon -2 pm - Union Terrace Gardens 
Yu Auki who lives in Aberdeen and comes from Hiroshima will be one of the speakers at the event.

Aug 5th, 11 am – 12 noon - Street stall, Bridgegate, Irvine
Aug 6th, 1.30 pm - 2.30 pm - door to door leafleting session, meeting at the The Cross, Prestwick
Aug 9th, 12 noon - 12.30 pm - gathering at the Wallace Tower, Ayr. There will be short speeches, readings and an opportunity to stand in solidarity with the victims of the Hiroshima and Nagasaki nuclear weapons attacks.

Aug 6th, 2 pm - Remembrance service at the peace pole in the grounds of St. Anne’s Episcopal/Methodist Church, Westgate.

Aug 6th, 8.30 pm - 
Dundee's Hiroshima Day Law walk. Set off at 8.30 pm, arrive at the top at about 8:50 pm for speeches.

East Kilbride

Celebrate peace on the anniversary of #Hiroshima at the CND tree,Churchill Avenue at 12 noon.After a minutes silence,there will be speakers,music,poetry.Everyone welcome to come to the Hay Stook for a tea or coffee afterwards.

Aug 6 th, 6 - 7 pm - singing, poetry, speeches, crane making at Mound Place/Princes Street 

Monday,  August 7th at 7 pm
 - Scottish CND in conjunction with Glasgow CND have a gathering at the peace tree in front of Kelvingrove Art Gallery on Monday August 7 at 7 pm.
Meet at Scottish CND office at 77 Southpark Avenue at 6.30 pm to walk over.
Alternatively go straight to peace tree.
There will be a two minutes silence and reflection for the victims of the nuclear bombs which fell on Hiroshima and Nagasaki followed by some brief readings .

Sun Aug 6th, 5 pm - gathering at Barshaw Park Peace Garden Paisley.
Meet at car park - off Glasgow Road at 5 pm to walk together to Peace Garden.
Speaker is Cllr Audrey Doig who is Renfrewshire Council rep on Association of Nuclear Free Local Authorities. Event organised by Renfrewshire CND.


Stirling CND are having a very informal Hiroshima Day Commemoration event at 19.00 on Sunday 6 August at the Peace Garden in Pullar Memorial Park, Bridge of Allan.
