Scottish Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament

Take on Trident

All operational British nuclear weapons are based on the Clyde. This means that Scotland is in the forefront of the campaign against nuclear weapons.

There are 144 nuclear weapons deployed on Trident submarines based at Faslane. One of these vessels is at sea ready to fire its missiles at all times.

Geoff Hoon has said that a decision on whether to replace Trident is expected to be made in the lifetime of the next parliament.
