This should be a quiet Scottish loch surrounded by the peaceful hills of Argyleshire. Instead it is the base for Trident nuclear submarines. While other military bases in Britain have been closed Faslane has expanded. The base is much bigger than it was ten years ago. In addition to Trident there are nuclear powered atttack submarines based at Faslane.
A massive shiplift has been built to lift Trident submarines out of the water, with their nuclear reactor, missiles and atom bombs all onboard. The shiplift has been used several times to lift Trident submarines - but it does not yet have full safety clearance. If something went wrong there would be a horrendous accident.
Help our campaign for a nuclear free Scotland.
