Vengeance is coming to Scotland

A new Trident submarine, HMS VENGEANCE, is about to sail up the Clyde.

Come to the Gareloch and show that Scotland does not want this nuclear monster.

The following estimate is based on information recieved by CND:

Tuesday 27th April
Vengeance will be moved from Devonshire Dock to Ramsden Dock in Barrow-in-Furness.

Wednesday 28th April
Vengeance is expected to sail from Barrow out to sea around 10 am.
When it leaves Scottish CND will raise a Scottish flag at Rhu Spit as a call to assemble.

Thursday 29th April
Vengeance is expected to arrive at Faslane in Scotland. Although we have no specific information on the time it is due, our guess is that it will arrive around midday. When it approaches there will be a demonstration on the shore at Rhu Spit, and there will protest boats and canoes in the Rhu Narrows. After it berths there will be a die-in at the gates of the Faslane base.

Friday 30th April
We will be ready for the submarine in case it is late.

Rhu Spit is a peninsula 3 miles North of Helensburgh (A814).

"George Robertson is sailing his new Trident submarine into the stormy waters of the Scottish election campaign" said Tony Southall, Joint Secretary of Scottish CND.

"Trident is obscenely expensive, and illegal under international law. It is an unwanted imposition on Scotland" said Colin Campbell, SNP Defence Spokesperson.

The photos below show protests on land and sea against the arrival of HMS Vanguard and HMS Victorious.
