Around 35 people took part in the demonstration. The blockade started with a star of fire on the road. People moved onto the road and stopped the cars heading towards Faslane. Five people were chained together in the road. They were linked together using pipes filled with concrete. Strathclyde police handled them roughtly, lifting them all when still locked together. One woman was injured when the police moved them. As a result she was unable to detach herself from the lock-on. An ambulance was called to the scene and then the fire brigade. Eventually her injured arm was removed from the lock-on.
