Trident remains on patrol during funeral (5 Sep 97)
According to a report in the London Times today (Friday 5 Sep) all activity by the British armed forces will stop on Saturday
to mark the funeral of Princess Diana, except for the Trident submarine on patrol in the North Atlantic.
HMS Victorious will
remain submerged in the North Atlantic at 15 minutes notice to launch a nuclear attack.
