become the European Ground Relay Station for the Space Base Infra Red
System (SBIRS) - playing a crucial role in the American Missile Defense
system 'Star Wars'. NSA Menwith Hill is unaccountable, secretive & out
of the control of the UK govt. The presence of this base means that all
our security is at risk particularly because of the role the base
played, & is still playing, since the invasion of Iraq."

2) USAF FAIRFORD GATECRASHERS STROLL
DATE: Fri 4th July. TIME: 3.00pm Onwards
MEET: Fairford High St. (On the junction of Mill Lane & Park St.)
There will be a procession from the village to the main gate of USAF
Fairford, where our own 'Declaration Of Independence' will be handed in.
The majority of aerial bombing missions on Iraq we're carried out from
USAF Fairford (Gloucestershire), reducing the UK to the status of
unsinkable aircraft carrier. Fairford has become the hub of the US
military machine. It's therefore vital that we expose & oppose the
militarisation of Fairford before the next US/UK war of aggression is
decided upon.

DIRECTIONS TO FAIRFORD: Fairford is 6 miles east of Cirencester, 10
miles north of Swindon &  20 miles west of Oxford. Fairford is on the
A417 going east to west. Or along the A361 going north to south, turning
onto the A417 at Lechlade village. The A417 runs straight through
Fairford Village. USAF Fairford is 20 minutes walk from Fairford, along
Horcott Rd.
PARKING: Is easiest in Mill Lane/Park Street. There's a free car park at
the top of Fairford village High Street just north of the church.

assembling outside the Houses of Parliament to demand our independence
from America. We feel this day cannot pass without a body of people
present at the seat of British Govt to demonstrate our horror that
America's greedy policies have been imposed upon us by the very people
who were elected to represent our interests. London, at present, is full
of tourists. We can't miss this opportunity to let the world know how we
feel. We can't possibly do nothing and let our voice be seen to be
silenced. Many other antiwar groups and campaigning organisations have

4) USAF FAIRFORD DEMONSTRATION : SAT 19th JULY
DATE: Sat 19th July. TIME: 12.00noon Onwards
MEET: Fairford High St. (On the junction of Mill Lane & Park St.)
"The Fairford Military Airshow (Air Tattoo) will take place from
15th-20th July. This event provides western military powers with the
chance to flaunt their power, & an opportunity for arms companies to
advertise their wares. This year the B52 bombers that were used for the
massive bombing of Iraq will be returning to Fairford, this time to
'entertain' the British people, along with the notorious B2 Stealth
Bomber.
People must understand that these weapons of mass destruction are
responsible for the death & maiming of 10's of thousands of people
around the world, & importantly that this mass slaughter has not stopped
& will never stop until we say no. Bristol-Stop-The-War will be
Demonstrating Fairford on the 19th July, we urge you all to do the same,
& to begin making preparations for this event now."
