Love the Planet Peace Carnival - Saturday 1st June

A 20 feet inflatable Trident missile will lead a carnival march around Glasgow city centre on Saturday. This will be followed by music, speeches and fun in George Square.

The peace carnival is being held to protest against George W Bush's plans for Star Wars. The ABM treaty is due to expire on 12th June and soon after this Bush will ask to use two sites in North Yorkshire for Missile Defence.

The need for this Scottish CND demonstration is heightened by the risk of nuclear war between India and Pakistan.

The programme for this alternative to the Golden Jubilee is as follows:

11.30 assemble in George Square
12.00 procession around the city centre led by a large inflatable Trident missile
1.00 - 5.00 afternoon of speakers and music,
