Royal hold up in blockade

Commodore Timothy Laurence, husband of Princess Anne, was one of those blocked from entering the Trident submarine base at Faslane on 13th February. He was one of a number of senior navy officers travelling in a minibus to the North Gate during the Blockade.

One of the peace campaigners, Dave, saw that there were Navy officers in the vehicle so he stood in front of it to stop it as it approached the main gate. He was underneath the vehicle for several minutes and four people sat in the road in front of the minibus. Others were behind it so that it could not move in either direction. After a considerable time the occupants, including Commodore Laurence got out and walked through the pedestrial gate. The MoD admitted that he had been delayed.
