SWEDES ON REMAND TILL MAY FOR VENGEANCE PROTEST

Three Swedish activists, Ann-Britt Sternfeldt, Annika Spalde and Stellan Vinthagen, who were arrested at Barrow-in-Furness on 13th September, are still in prison awaiting trial. They were charged with “Conspiracy to Commit Criminal Damage” after an attempt to disarm Trident submarine HMS Vengeance. They have been on remand since then and have been given 24th May 1999 as a provisional date for their trial, though they do have a hearing on January 11th to see if another court can hear their trial sooner. Please send them letters of support. Also raise this issue with your MP.
